Poster Prize of the Bruno Bloch Foundation

The Bruno Bloch Foundation awards a prize for the best poster in the field of dermato-allergology. The jury is chaired by Prof Thomas Kündig.

Prof Bruno Bloch was the first full professor of dermatology and venereology in Zurich (1916 – 1933). His clinical and scientific work contains numerous findings that have led to important advances in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases. In his honour, his wife set up a foundation in 1935 with the aim of promoting scientific work at the Dermatology Clinic of the University Hospital Zurich.

  • The prize is endowed with CHF 2,000.

Poster Prize of the Urs W. Schnyder Foundation

Every year, the U.W. Schnyder Foundation honours a poster in the field of genodermatoses. The jury is chaired by Prof Luca Borradori.

Prof Urs W. Schnyder (1923 – 2012) was born in Basel and studied medicine in Bern, Geneva and Zurich. In 1965 he was appointed to the renowned Chair of Dermatology and Venereology at the University of Heidelberg, and in 1978 he moved to Zurich, where he headed the University Department of Dermatology until 1991. His research focused on epidermolysis bullosa and ichthyoses, which he better characterised and described new variants using light and electron microscopy as well as biochemical and molecular biological methods.

With his donation to the SGDV, he wished to honour outstanding scientific and translational work in the field of genodermatoses in Switzerland and thus help dermatologists from Switzerland to continue to distinguish themselves in the field of genodermatoses in the future.

  • The prize is endowed with CHF 4,000.
